FAQ

Question: Are your diamonds certified?
Answer: We sell only natural and certified diamonds with GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certification.  Anyone can certify a diamond and there are plenty of diamond laboratories that might grade a diamond higher than what it actually is, the GIA always prudently grade a diamond for your assurance and accuracy. Conservative diamond grading ensures that the diamond is the minimum colour and clarity which is the subjectional part of diamond grading.  The cut grade is assigned using a sarin laser machine to measure the angles and facet alignment and the carat weight is assigned using digital weight scales so these characteristics are always normally accurate.  The colour and clarity is subjectional and open to interpretation and sometimes overstated by lesser qualified diamond laboratories and jewellers that grade their own stock.  The GIA is not only the world diamond and gemstone authority, but also the inventor of the modern diamond grading system.  Our diamonds are all GIA certified for your assurance, trust and satisfaction.

Q: Do you make diamond engagement rings?  Can we supply a ring style or our own ring design?
A: As award winning manufacturing jewellers we can produce any diamond ring style to suit your budget.  We use Computer Aided Design or CAD to model how the ring will actually look in a 3D model that we can email for your review.  The model will show the ring in several angles and include the actual finger size, diamond measurements and ring proportions.  This allows clients to confirm how the ring will actually look or they can ask for adjustments like make the band wider, add extra side diamonds, raise the setting to be higher etc.  Any diamond ring design can be perfectly made for each special client.

Q: How long does it take to make a ring?
A: We can typically finish a diamond ring in 5-10 days and allow 1-3 days for delivery or collect in store.

Q: How do you produce your rings?
A: Once we email the CAD model of how the ring is actually going to look like we then 3D print a wax polymer model and this is then used to cast the ring in components.  These components perfectly replicate the digital image that clients approve.  The diamond rings are symmetrically perfect, hand set, hand finished to perfection. We are confident that you will not find better anywhere else - the level of quality is very high and backed with a lifetime guarantee.

Q: How do I send you an image of a ring we like?
A: You can email us the image to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - people draw inspiration from Pinterest, Google images, magazines or other websites.  We need the ring image that you like, finger size, metal type (yellow gold, white gold platinum) and diamond that suits your budget. Check our list of 10,000+ diamonds.  We can then quote and draw the ring in architectural CAD to suit.

Q: What is the price?
A: We produce at factory direct prices and are very good value. The rings are much the same price with the diamond you select making up the price. Each custom made diamond ring is symmetrically perfect, hand set, hand finished and comes with a lifetime guarantee - all this for a similar price as a mass produced junk ring from the chain stores.  Enquire and we can quote you or use our ring builder and select a diamond to suit your budget.

Q: Do you do wedding rings?
A: We can produce any wedding ring and most clients that buy an engagement ring come back for matching wedding rings.  We can supply any metal and any design to perfectly match.  We also have Gents wedding rings like Titanium wedding rings, Zircon Wedding Rings and precious metals like Yellow Gold, White Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum.

Q: What type of gold do you use?
A: Polished Diamonds can produce in 22kt, 20kt, 18kt, 14kt, 10kt and 9kt gold including yellow gold, white gold and rose gold.  We also produce in 950 Platinum with Ruthenium and Copper alloy to make it workable.  We can produce in silver although this is soft but perfect for regimental, family, club jewellery as it is not so expensive and can be blackened and top polished.  We can produce in other metals like Palladium and change the alloy by request.  We do not use nickel as this is a source of irritation and is banned.  Our jewellery is hypoallergenic and follows best practice in the alchemy of the metal mix.

Q: What does the lifetime guarantee cover?
A: Our lifetime guarantee covers all workmanship on the ring including cracking or brittle metal.  Wear and tear is not covered as we can't stop people doing heavy work like mechanical, fencing, mountain biking whilst wearing their fine diamond ring at the same time. Our rings are made to be durable but one must remember the metal is malleable and can be pushed, pulled and bent out of position we can't cover how you wear the ring but we absolutely cover our workmanship and materials for a lifetime.

Q: Can we use a Ruby instead of a diamond?
A: We we can supply any gemstone not just diamonds.  We only sell natural gem stones and have a fabulous supply of AAA rated Ruby, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Tourmaline, Alexandrite, Demantoid Garnet - in fact any gemstone.  Any of our ring design can be set with these gemstones or you can supply a photo and we can make and replicate for your review and confirmation.

Q: Can Polished Diamonds redesign from existing rings or jewellery?
A: Yes we can give you a credit on the old gold or platinum.  We will then measure the diamonds and start laying out the design in a CAD model to see how it will actually look.  Simply email us a photo of what you like and what you have and we can start to work out a price estimate.
